2008 Year In Review - From LB Jeff

"Year In Review" Survey For 2008

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Took the GMAT randomly one day.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more in 2009?
I don't do resolutions. It's better to be consistent throughout the year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Don't think so.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Hmm. Don't think so either.

5. What countries did you visit?
Somewhere in the Caribbean

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A nice apartment without exhorbitant rent. Better yet, my own house.

7. What date(s) from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
3/15/2008. First time for everything.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting my act back together!

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not having done this sooner.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I got a bunch of colds as usual.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
10 bottles of Martinelli's sparkling cider. They count as multiples of the same thing.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Hilary Clinton. It takes guts to be her. I'm still all for Clinton as president - not secretary of state, vice president, etc.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My former boss. No worries though.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Vanguard fund. I maxed out.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going skiing with my own equipment. It's unbelievably fantastic.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
viva la vida. Good song.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Wiser? Probably not.
Healthier? Yep - I'm down 14% body weight... pretty much ready for summer now.
Richer? No way.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Partied. Life is too short.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being miserable at work. That stuff can shave off years in just seconds.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Too early to tell.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
I thought I did. And then reality opened my eyes.

23. How many one-night stands?
Ask me in person and I promise I'll tell... maybe.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Psych!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time of the year last year?
Yes. Hint: it's a Russian.

26. What was the best book you read?
Rabbit at Rest. It's not actually about rabbits.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
That I was born with perfect pitch. I knew that for a long time and I rubbed it into all of my music teachers' faces. Had a big ego then.

28. What did you want and get?
A new stuffed animal!

29. What did you want and not get?
A somewhat rational significant other. Actually it's probably better this way.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Didn't watch any new releases.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Mom and grandma made my favorite food. I ate and slept and repeated. So good. I turned 24.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
I hear I dress very pretty. What happened to #32?

34. What kept you sane?
My own weird perspectives on the world.

35. Who did you miss?
Frank. I'm still mad that you up and left for Kyrgyzstan. But I just miss you more for it.

36. Who did something for you that you will never forget?
Noel saved me from a social breakdown. Good man.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
I'm glad to have invested in my friends.

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"me duele tanto, que no creas mas en mis promesas" and "yo se que no he sido un santo"
They both apply.

So hungry. So cold. Kinda in the mood for some wings and booze. And GT4 of course, nothing beats animated drunk driving.

Nostalgia

I can't believe it's been ~3 yrs since doing anything taekwondo lately. No wonder I'm so antsy lately. Grrrrr

Seeing as how no one currently checks xanga, ranting here is about as good as it gets. That said, I hope that god-awful son-of-a-bitch gets that stupid smirk wiped off his arrogant little face in London and that whatever-her-name-is burns in hell with him.

I've got a hell of a confession coming up... oh joy. Really want to taekwondo their asses.
